mousesports eliminate Astralis at EL

mousesports have eliminated Astralis from ELEAGUE after two maps in the third quarter-final (Mirage 16-2, Dust2 16-12).

Day two of quarter-finals at ELEAGUE saw MOUZ taking on Astralis with Mirage up first in the series. Johannes "nex" Maget's quad-kill in a B rush worked wonders for the German side to start things off, followed up by two uncontested low buys from their opponents.

A clutch situation going their way in the first gunround meant they'd prolong the winning streak more and more. With a few eco's thrown in and two more retake scenarios, MOUZ led 7-0 before the Danes took a timeout.

It only worked for a single round however, as after that another afterplant went the other way and mouz switched over to Counter-Terrorists with a commanding 13-2 lead. With the pistol round in the bag, Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and company came out on top of their opponents' pick at 16-2 after two more clutch rounds.

mousesports dominated Astralis on Mirage

MOUZ' choice was Dust2, though they weren't able to replicate the start on Mirage. Astralis got off to a 2-0 start but ended up dropping an anti-eco to a fired-up NiKo, who got a triple and a 1v1 in the process.

At 3-3 it was the Danes who got three in a row, starting with a quick B split which caught mouz off guard. Getting to a 8-4 lead, Astralis couldn't make it a convincing half as MOUZ had a couple of great reads that earned them seven rounds as Counter-Terrorists.

Nicolai "device" Reedtz, who was already firing at all cylinders, kicked off the second half with a triple in the pistol, putting his team up 11-7. From there on nothing had worked for the struggling powerhouse though, as the German-Bosnian-Dutch mixture piled on rounds to get up to a 13-11 scoreline with a few situations turned on their heads.

After a timeout Astralis found a way to one round, but they were forced to save three guns shortly afterwards and found themselves being up against a match point and on very low economy. In the end, MOUZ closed the series out 16-12, 2-0.
